Promise Land Golden's in Pasadena, Maryland is family owned and operated established 2007.  After years of our beloved Chesapeake Bay Retrievers and English labs we made a switch.   We finally found the perfect breed...the English/European Golden Retriever.  Our lives were forever changed from the moment our first European Golden joined our family. We have been absolutely amazed with the English Cream Golden Retriever. They are exceptionally smart, beautiful and sweet. We chose the English Golden because they are not only the most beautiful and intelligent dog we have ever been around, but they are healthier than the American Golden Retriever. Our love for the breed is seen through our puppies and dogs.  When our older dogs retire they stay with us until they pass.  They are a loved part of our family.  All our dogs are house dogs, for this reason we have placed many of our breeding dogs with families to breed for years to come. They are still part of our breeding program but live a normal life in family homes.  When they are retired they stay with there Loving Guardian Family. 

 

First ensure your puppy’s good health.  It starts before your puppy is ever conceived, providing proper diet and exercise to the parents.  Along with a proper diet she is given NuVet which does not use heat to maximize enzyme activity in the nutrients which are quickly absorbed by your dogs metabolism, providing the maximum protection possible. It offers vital nutrients missing in today's diets to help boost the immune system. This is combined with regular exercise to all of dogs.  Our mother dogs are dewormed before giving birth with Safeguard to reduce puppies exposure to worms. We are there, assisting with every birth during whelping, and take every pain to ensure that each puppy comes through the critical first twenty-four hours in good health.  We remain for the safety of our females as well as the puppies.

All puppies are carefully monitored throughout their time in the program, weaned on a breed-appropriate diet. The puppies begin experimenting with puppy food at 3 ½ to 4 weeks of age. Victor is soaked in hot water until completely moist (we let it set for about an hour).  Several tablespoons of Manna Pro Unimilk (milk protein formula) is added. This is topped off with a powder form of NuVet vitamin as well as probodics for there digestive health. Food is mashed together until quite soft.  It doesn’t take long for them to get fully into it! They likely where more than they eat the first several times. Their mom is more than happy to clean them up. As the puppies mature, we make the food less and less moist.

 

We administer our own puppy shots. Due to the essential nature of the puppy receiving the full dosage (properly administered), we recommend being trained in this simple procedure.   By the time each English Cream Golden Retriever puppy leaves us they will have had their first two vaccinations (Distemper, Canine Hepatitis, Adenovirus Cough, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus) and Bordetella. We worm all puppies at 2 weeks, 4 week, 6 weeks with Pyrantel Pamoate and at 8 weeks we give them a final Safeguard treatment before going home. All our puppies are given a preventive coccidiosis and Giardia treatment. They then get a final check up from the veterinarian where they are given a heart and full body examination. There shot and health record will be provided. We do expect our buyers to have a one week check by a licensed veterinarian for there puppy.

 

Socialization starts at birth and should not be stopped until the dog is well adjusted. We employ every possible measure to form good emotional health in each English Cream Golden Retriever puppy. Each puppy is petted, loved and gently talked to daily. This is the first step in socializing the puppy with people.  This will go on every day until the puppy is adopted.   We use special training tools with the puppies to help with there development.   The puppy socialization is the crucial first step in your dog's obedience training.  We employ the Rule of 7s in Puppy Socialization as well. It forms a trusting foundation on which your dog will learn and grow.  This is one of our favorite parts.  We loves to hold, nurture and play with all our little angels...

 

We make every effort to make your experience of purchasing an English Cream Golden Retriever puppy a smooth and enjoyable process. Each buyer is provided with a pedigree, AKC registration, shot record and schedule. We also provide each buyer with NuVet information, a toy they have played with and has been rub over mom, a sample packet of food, packet of puppy training tips, feeding tips with nutritional guide lines, and health tips with neutering and spaying. We take great pride and care developing our Golden Retrievers foundation. We are very approachable and are not annoyed with answering even the most basic questions.
