Certified Dog Trainer
Jen has been training dogs for 12 years now. She originally started training for Petsmart, but quickly moved on to become part of the American Kennel Club (AKC) training program. Jen is an accredited trainer/evaluator for the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and S.T.A.R Puppy programs. She also does beginners agility training. Jen offers training classes, as well as individual training for those wanting one on one, or work with specific issues. All training is positive reinforcement. In 1999 Jen volunteered with the Mid Atlantic German Shephard rescue, and she is currently a foster home for bottle fed kittens for BARCS animal rescue. Jen is located in Glen Burnie, Maryland where she lives with her husband, son, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs, 3 birds, a lizard and a fish.
If you are in the Baltimore area, Jen can either come to your home, or meet you somewhere in between.
The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. Therapy Dogs International (TDI) uses the AKC Canine Good Citizen test as a key component of its therapy dog assessment. CGC is now an official Title.
There is also the CGCA and CGCU available as well.
